Die Stamp & Copperplate Printing

Diestamp & copperplate printing is produced from a steelplate or copperplate that is either hand or machine engraved. Each piece of card or paper must be hand-fed into a die press, where the plate has been inked up and has enormous pressure applied to it to literally squeeze the ink out of the lines of the plate and onto the paper or card, raising the printed image at the same time as the card or paper is pushed into the engraved parts of the plate. The plate is wiped by a blade and paper after every impression.
